Evil green fairy!
Do you remember these awful stories about depraved people in late 1800’s drinking absinthe and loosing their mind because of it? Well as it turns out, its hallucinogenic properties were badly exaggerated, but still caused its ban in several countries from 1915 on.
The elixir of the bohemian culture was then kept away from us until the beginning of the 21st century when it saw a renaissance originating from its birthplace ~ a fine geographic line between Switzerland and France following a succession of pure water springs.
So now it is your turn to experience the favorite drinks of Joyce, Baudelaire, Van Gogh, Hemingway, Modigliani, and Toulouse-Lautrec. All you will need to enjoy this anise-based botanical distillate is a glass, cold water, and perhaps some sugar to sweeten the deal to your taste (of course you could be fancy and get absinthe spoons, la Rochere crystal, and a silver absinthe fountain).
So take the time and meet a new friend that use to be an old demon.
(We will be holding at least two absinthe tastings before September, so check us out)
Stay Curious my friend.
